Heard in Fredriksfors Nov 4 - 6 - "old times listening night" in solar storm

November 4th. A bit of a “reverse” condition this night where I listened to 255 degrees, but during the “early” night had a couple of Peruvians among other things. Then increasingly “expected” La Plata, but mostly at very weak strengths. And then 1080 Monumental, which really went with “monumental” strength. However, it did not pull other Paraguayan stations that I hunt for decent sound from, such as 1250 and 1450.

5th. I switched to 285 degrees and it was probably not wrong, because what was heard was mainly Colombia, Puerto Rico and the occasional Venezuelans. The problem was instead far too much noise together with far too weak signal strengths. There were some carriers that could have been interesting if only there had been a usable signal.

On 6th. Dan Andersson and I had booked a "listening night like in the old days" in the shack. Full moon, the advance forecasts were not brilliant but at least ok, the stove was crackling, it smelled of coffee and buns. But oh how wrong it turned out. Huge disturbance. An afternoon and early evening check towards Asia with some of the most common super-strong Indians. At 22 Harbour Light could be detected on 1400 - but it soon disappeared. At 01 the most common from Brazil and some Argentina on frequencies below 1100, the higher ones were far too noisy. After 02 it only got worse...But a "live night" still has its charm, so there may probably be a repeat later – however, I don't like it with K-index 7...
