Mauno Ritola in Finland reports that the transmitter of Radio Hami is located at Topeno in the municipality of Loppi, a few kms west of Riihimäki (Tavastehus). (via Bengt Ericsson, ARC, Växjö)

ARC Newsflash: Radio Hami on the air

Radio Hami at Räyskälä (west of Lahti) in Finland (RSL) is on the air on 1584 and 6170 kHz between 0500-2100 UTC with programming, but the rest of the time with non-stop music. Heard on July 15th at 1500 UTC on 6170 kHz and at 2205 UTC on 1584 kHz. Quite good strength on shortwave, but on mediumwave QRM from Twoje Radio AM, Slupsk in Poland. All Finnish, but a few IDs in English. Radio Hami is very often mentioned in the DJ-programs. The transmissions will end on July 18th. (Bengt Ericson, Växjö, ARC.)
Also heard with good signals in the radio shack at Fredriksfors on SW 6170 in daytime/evening plus with moderate signals and severe interference on 1584 kHz. (Ronny Forslund, ARC)

ARC Newsflash: Radio Hami, Finland on the air July 15-18

Radio Hami, the special event station of the Finnish ham radio association Suomen Radioamatööriliiton, will be on the air from July 15-18 on 1584 and 6120 kHz plus FM 104.9 MHz from Räyskälä, Finland. More info on http://radiohami.fi/ (Ronny Forslund, ARC)

ARC Newsflash: Studio X, Italy off the air

1584 kHz Studio X in Italy is off since beginning of May. They have problems with the MW transmitter according to Dario Monferini in Italy. Now there is a chance to hear Radio Verona in Verona, Italy after 2200 UTC when RAI at Terni signs off. The station is commercial and during the evening a lot of ads are broadcast between the records. Power 1 kW. During nighttime 2300 – 0430 UTC Monday to Saturday and on Sundays 2200 - 0430 they are broadcasting non-stop music with IDs. Radio Verona is recently been heard by Robic Patrick in Austria. ARC Newsflash: New Polish Twoje Radio station on the air on 1584 kHz

POLAND 1584 kHz A new Twoje Radio station has recently started on 1584 kHz. Heard for the first time by me on May 17th. Identification ”Twoje Radio AM, Slupsk……….. 1584 kHz”.

The station has 0.8 kW, but still no local programming, but it will probably soon start. Normally the local evening program is 1500 – 1600 UTC.

The signal is very good due to the location near the Polish coast only 300 kms southeast of Växjö. The station was identified thanks to assistance from Hasse Mattisson. (Bengt Ericson, ARC, Växjö)

ARC Newsflash: Radio Nord Revival - RSL-station on the air in the summer of 2011

In the summer of 2011 a temporary event station (RSL) will be on the air from the museum ship and former icebreaker S:t Erik on medium wave to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the start of offshore station Radio Nord in 1961. Further information about the project which is called Radio Nord Revival will be published on http://www.radionordrevival.blogspot.com/ Behind the project are radio enthusiasts Göran Lindemark and Ronny Forslund. Newsflash: Radio Veronica 50th Anniversary broadcasts

Here the latest and at the same time last extra newsflash for this month. The Foundation Norderney presents 50 Years of Radio Veronica. During the whole month of August the programming from the internet radiostation Veronica 192.nl pays attention to the fact Veronica was registrated as an offshore radio station in 1959 and started broadcasts in April 1960. Also the month of August remembers the Dutch people to the fact in 1974 on the 31st there came an end to the offshore broadcasts from the station. Up till midnight on August 31st you can listen to old Veronica programmes on http://www.veronica192.nl/ as well on 1584 AM on the frequency of Radio Paradise in certain parts of Holland.
