ARC Newsflash: MDR Wachenbrunn 882 kHz closing down

ARC Newsflash: NRK Vigra 630 kHz closing down

Eivind Motland reports: Norwegian public broadcaster NRK will cease broadcasts on 630 kHz from the Vigra mediumwave transmitter on 30 June. The purpose of keeping it on the air simply isn't there anymore, as it primarily is targeted towards the fishing fleet to let them get the weather reports.

Today NRK broadcasts weather forecasts on dedicated channels on satellite and DAB. (RN Media Network via Tore Larson, ARC)

ARC Newsflash: AFN Frankfurt, Radio Waddenzee, Kol Israel 1206

GERMANY 873 AFN Weisskirchen (Frankfurt) seems to have reduced power on June 1st. A very weak AFN-signal was heard at 1830. The frequency was dominated by Radio Rossii and Bulgaria.

THE NETHERLANDS 1602 Radio Waddenzee and Radio Seagull are now broadcasting from offshore. The ship Jenni Baynton has sailed 8 km from Harlingen and is anchored near the island of Terschelling. Reception in Växjö is very good around 1800.

ISRAEL 1206 Kol Israel, Acre now with 10 kW has changed to Reshet Bet (program B) with news and current affairs in Hebrew. Good reception at 2000 news. (Bengt Ericson, ARC, Växjö)
